UFC 158: GSP vs. Diaz Weigh-in Photos from Esther Lin

The wait is over and one of the most anticipated fights of the year is going to happen tonight. Georges St. Pierre will look to retain his title against a fierce challenger in Nick Diaz. A lot of smack talking has led up to this fight, but now it’s up to them to show up tonight and bring it. Along with the main event, this may be a coming out party for Johny Hendricks if he’s able to defeat top contender in Carlos Condit. Both are very dangerous wherever the fight goes, it looks to be an interesting one.

If you saw just two fights from this card, the Wanderlei Silva vs. Brian Stann and Mark Hunt vs. Stefan Struve fights are exactly why we watch the UFC. You have the heart of the fighters laying it all on the line and doing their best to end the fight. Some want to just win fights, and some want to END fights — there’s a big difference. I applaud the main and co-main event — it revived a bit of the PRIDE days of old. Amazing.

UFC 157: Rousey vs. Carmouche Photos from Esther Lin

If you were doubting the place of Women’s MMA in the UFC, Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche just shut you up. The one round between the two first women fighters in the UFC was action packed filled with twist (literally) and turns throughout the short 5 minutes. In the end, Ronda did what she was able to do for her last 6 fights. She took Liz’s arm and made her tap.

Ronda Rousey was able to retain the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship belt and left fans wanting more. If you’re not excited for Rousey’s next fight, I don’t know what will. She has literally made arm bars as exciting as first round knockouts. Women’s MMA is here to stay, thanks to both Ronda and Liz!
