thepiecetalks asked: what do you think of the Miguel Torres and Mighty Mouse decision? are sub-attempts important in the judges eyes?

That was a hard fight to judge, in my opinion. Miguel Torres was a beast on his back, continuing to always attack and trying to snap submission after submission. While he was making Demetrious Johnson work while he was on top — the judges just saw that he was on top.

I’ll give it to Mighty Mouse, he had a great game plan and took Torres out of his game. People should definitely give Johnson a ton of credit, the dude took this fight on short notice and still won. That’s pretty bad ass.

thepiecetalks asked: And by impressive fashion you mean “Im pressing this guy against the cage in this fashion” ;) naw but rick story proved once again that he’s a strong durable wrestler with an iron chin. dude was straight up eating those punches lol.

He stuck to his game plan and bull dozed through everything Thiago Alves could give him. It’s pretty impressive to take a punch and more importantly those knees from the Pitbull.

Anonymous asked: did rick story win

Yes he did — in impressive fashion. Check out the UFC 130 recap.

lightsoutlytle asked: do you have any machida songs out there? and what title did he use in ufc 70 nations collide against david heath?

I’m not sure what he used at UFC 70, but I know he’s used Linkin Park’s “Bleed it out” several times.

jesusstolemylook asked: So, if GSP moves up……whos gonna be the next 170lbs champ? I’ll go w/ Condit. U?

I don’t think GSP is going to move up just yet. My guess is that he’ll want to make a statement in the UFC Welterweight Division before he does that. I have a feeling he wants to finish a fight before him move up.

iamspider-man asked: if gsp moves up to middleweight do you think the ufc will have a tournament for the title

Wouldn’t that be awesome? Although, I’d love to see a GSP vs. Nick Diaz fight before a tournament or even the Middleweight Division gets brought up. Great idea though. :)

cyanidenhappiness asked: It seems MMA is dominated by the big six (box, kickbox, muay thai, wrestle, judo, bjj) with a few others seen here or there (karate, sambo, taekwondo, etc.). Why do you think there is a lack of “unorthodox” fighting styles (Kung fu, krav maga, Capoeira, etc.)?

I just think it’s a matter of numbers. There’s just more people practicing the “big six” than the other fighting styles mentioned, and when that happens you’re able to develop more stars from that just by the sheer numbers. When you don’t have another “krav maga” practitioner to practice with in your area (or even a gym), you don’t get better. When you don’t get better — you don’t make it to the show.

conradjuni0r asked: Is GSP fighting Nick Diaz next?

I hope so. I get giddy just thinking about it. :)

cyanidenhappiness asked: Check out this video at 2:00

I have a new respect for Belfort. It sorta explains the 4 losses in 5 fights blemish on his record from ‘04 - ‘06

Vitor has definitely gone through a ton during his life. Respect is definitely deserved.

Anonymous asked: who would win? brock lesnar or kimbo slice in an all out fist fight?

Brock Lesnar would kill him.

iamspider-man asked: since dana was talking about five-round non title fight wouldn’t it be great if they did that with Guida Vs. Pettis?

I could see that. They both have the gas tanks to go five rounds. :)

snackrooms asked: “Tank Abbott says he could knock out Brock Lesnar in ten seconds” hahahahaha

You can’t knock anyone out if you’re on your back. :)

perfectclassic asked: I like this challenge you’re doing. It’s nice to see a post from weheartmma everyday.

Thanks. It’s super fun to do. Where’s your list? :)

iamspider-man asked: GSP VS SONNEN..?

I’d like to see Sonnen climb back up for another title shot. A fight with GSP wouldn’t put him on track for that. How about GSP vs. Diaz? :)

1. snackrooms asked: Has there been any news on Sonnen & Bisping for TUF 14? That would be biblical.

It looks like they’ll be the two coaches pending Chael Sonnen’s meeting with the Nevada State Athletic Commission in May. If he gets the go ahead, look to watch some fireworks with Chael talking a lot of smack with Michael Bisping. It will definitely be epic!

3. giantfrancis asked: what if Scott Adkins did MMA?

I don’t know who Scott Adkins is. Do you want to write the post and find the videos? If you do, let me know. Email me at weheartmma@gmail.com.

4. gildedshit asked: What is your reasoning behind Sheilds beating GSP?

Short story: I think the fight is going to end on the ground and whether Jake Shields is on his back or on top — I can see him finishing GSP. More on this in a later post. :)

MMA Questions from the Community #5

1. mikeylaz asked: I know Paul Daley just fought, but I clearly remember Dana White saying that Daley will not fight for him again because of the Koscheck Incident. Any word about what’s gonna happen to him?

Paul Daley currently still has a contract with Strikeforce, so I don’t see him being gone anytime soon. He also put up a great fight against Nick Diaz and promoters love fighters who throw down despite his past in the UFC.

2. weeium asked: who do you think has the BEST entrance music in all of MMA?

There’s several fighters I like when it comes to entrance songs: Forrest Griffin, Michael Bisping, Brock Lesnar, and Yoshihiro Akiyama. But the one that takes the cake for me is BJ Penn’s “Hawaii 78 / E Ala E” by IZ. It always gives me the chills.

3. Anonymous asked: shane carwins next fight

Shane Carwin is facing Jon Olav Einemo at UFC 131 in Vancouver, BC — June 11, 2011.

1. recooperation asked: Who has the most professional wins?

Travis “The Ironman” Fulton has 195 professional MMA wins. He’s fought in both the UFC and IFL, along with a ton of other MMA promotions. Along with 253 professional MMA fights, he’s also logged 38 professional boxing fights (14-24).

2. Anonymous asked: Whose next for anthony johnson? he got robbed by Koscheck. If that fight did not stop he would have defintly won.Now that he made Dan Hardy look scared child Is a title shot in the near future?

A title shot is for Anthony Johnson is a ways away. Johnson would take a fight with BJ Penn if it was offered since Jon Fitch has dropped out. I’d like to see him fight Jake Ellenberger.

3. cyanidenhappiness asked: Do you know what the required attire and safety gear for the fighters? (1” thick gloves with open fingers, top only mouth piece, approved shorts, and properly taped hands) Are cups required?

All competitors must fight in approved shorts, without shoes or any other sort of foot padding. Shirts, gis or long pants (including gi pants) are not allowed. Fighters must use approved light gloves (4-6 ounces) that allow fingers to grab. A mouthguard and protective cup are also required and is checked by a State Athletic Committee official before being allowed to enter the cage/ring. (via Wikipedia)

4. adrrriano asked: well it looks like we won’t get to see davis and thiago. silva just failed his piss test from 125

That’s just too bad. Thiago Silva has a fire I love watching in a fighter, but you can’t encourage cheating in MMA. It’s the fight game, and people can get hurt. Although, I’m happy that Silva was upfront with everyone and fessed up to his wrong doings.

5. kevinboomhwer asked: Do you think it’s funny Dana White told Semtex Daley he would never fight for the UFC again, but now zuffa owns strikeforce, and semtex fights for strikeforce. In a way he fights for the UFC again to me its poor taste but whatever this is MMA not ballet

It’s definitely a loophole. I really don’t see Paul Daley fighting in the UFC unless he becomes the Strikefoce Welterweight Champion and the public urges for a superfight between the UFC/Strikeforce Champs. Although, if the UFC absorbs Strikeforce before then — that’ll be interesting.
