Shark Fights 13 wasn’t a huge production, there weren’t any fireworks or hot ring girls, but there were some great fights. Along with the color commentary by Bas Rutten and Don Frye, it was reminiscent of old baseball players commenting during baseball games. I loved the insights on what was going on, but I loved the chemistry both Bas and Don had. Good stuff. Here were the results from the card, and from the looks of it — my predictions were HORRIBLE:
1. Trevor Prangley edges Keith Jardine - too little, too late
I feel sorry for Keith Jardine. I really do. He’s a great fighter and I think he has it to be in the big promotions, but he just doesn’t put it all together when it really matters. Trevor Prangley wins the first two rounds, which lit a fire under Jardine’s ass to win the third. Why wasn’t he able to bring it in the beginning? Where does Jardine go from here?
(-1) Prediction: Keith Jardine over Trevor Prangley
2. Houston Alexander goes all Sokoudjou on Rameau Sokoudjou
Now this was a fight. You saw heart. You saw bombs. You saw fighters. Rameau Sokoudjou came out blazing and went all Sokoudjou on Houston Alexander, but Alexander showed some serious heart. He weathered the heavy punches and made it to the second round. From there, Sokoudjou seemed done — all gassed out. That’s when Alexander took the fight back and reigned his own heavy hands to win it. Amazing!
(-1) Prediction: Rameau Sokoudjou over Houston Alexander
I’m super excited for Shark Fights 13: Jardine vs. Prangley. I don’t know about you, but this is a pretty exciting card that includes Keith Jardine, Paul Daley, and Rameau Soukoudjou. I know it isn’t the UFC or Strikeforce, but it’s kind of nice to see a fresh face. The video above (click through to see video) shows that Shark Fights is for real with the amount of production they’ve done. If you’re looking for MMA this weekend, tune into Shark Fights this Saturday. Here are my predictions for the fighters to win:
1. Keith Jardine out brawls Trevor Prangley in a barn burner
This is a must-win fight for both fighters in order to show the world that they’re not over the hill. Keith Jardine needs to bounce back from a sour end to his UFC run, while Trevor Prangley needs to rebound from his Strikeforce loss against Tim Kennedy. They’re both great fighters, but each is wanting to make a run back to the big show. I see this going the distance with Keith Jardine displaying a more all-around game, especially on the feet. I see him doing a ton of leg kicks.
Prediction: Keith Jardine over Trevor Prangley via unanimous decision.
2. Rameau Soukoudjou goes all Soukoudjou on Houston Alexander
Expect fireworks! Rameau Soukoudjou is a very aggressive fighter and Houston Alexander used to be. Houston is trying to come back to form and show that he hasn’t lost his firepower after his embarrassing fight against Kimbo Slice. Although, I don’t see it going his way at all. Soukoudjou has gone against top-tier opponents, and has held his own. Houston isn’t top-tier, so he’ll do fine and finish the fight in a devastating fashion.
Prediction: Rameau Soukoudjou over Houston Alexander via TKO
