Strikeforce brought it’s “A” game against The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale tonight with Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Sobral. You saw a bit of everything with some crazy knockouts and TKO stoppages. There’s more to MMA than just the UFC, and you would have seen that tonight on Strikeforce. Here are the results if you missed it.

1. Dan Henderson dominates and finally makes a statement

Dan Henderson came into this fight on a mission. He needed to stop Renato Sobral and you saw it in his eyes. He was ready to finish this fight and boy did he do that. Pushing the pace forward the whole fight, Henderson was able to land some heavy shots on Sobral which brought the fight to the ground. Once Henderson got dominant position on top, he never let up and landed some crazy right hands on Sobral’s face to end the fight. Devastating!

2. Robbie Lawler ends Matt Lindland’s career

This didn’t last very long at all. Robbie Lawler displayed another vicious knockout tonight in just 50 seconds. It was a right uppercut then a quick right hook that put Matt Lindland to sleep. I think it’s over for Lindland — he getting up there in age and needs to leave the game gracefully since he clearly can’t keep up. He couldn’t even get close to Lawler to clinch.

When it rains, it pours! Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Sobral is going head to head against TUF 12 Finale, and they’re coming with some strong fights. It’s going to be a fun night of MMA fights and if you get to watch them both — I’m sure you’ll be satisfied. Here are my predictions for Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Sobral.

1. Dan Henderson returns back to form against Sobral

Dan Henderson has a lot to prove in Strikeforce. Coming over as a high-profile fighter, he has yet to make a statement. I understand Renato Sobral asked for this fight, but it may have not been a good decision on his part. Look for Henderson to pace himself throughout the fight while waiting to land the powerful right hand. Sobral is going to want to take it to the ground, but Henderson will be forcing the fight against the cage where he knows how to impose his will. Eventually Henderson will have a dominant position and it’ll be game over for Sobral.

Prediction: Dan Henderson over Renato Sobral via TKO

2. Matt Lindland suffocates Robbie Lawler with wrestling

Ugly fight, but truly effective for Matt Lindland. Robbie Lawler is going to want to keep it on the feet where he can let his hands go, but Lindland is going get too close and pull out a wrestling style win with an overwhelming grappling game. I don’t see Lindland getting much damage and it’ll be a frustrated Lawler trying to take the fight back.
