5 Results for The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale

Head-to-head action against Strikeforce, the UFC did put on a good show The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale. Although, I think Strikeforce won tonight with the action they were able to bring, but remember — this was a free fight for the UFC and not the usual PPV fights. I don’t think Strikeforce would go head-to-head against the UFC PPV juggernaut. Here’s the results for TUF 12 FInale:

1. Stephan Bonnar looks hungry and dominates Igor

Stephan Bonnar looks strong, and he seems excited to climb the ladder. Everywhere the fight went, Stephan pushed the pace against Igor Pokrajac. When it was on the ground, he was going for submissions and strikes. When it was on the feet, he had the better kickboxing and easily took the fight to the ground when he wanted it. Pokrajac never gave up though, you got to give him that.

Prediction (+1): Stephan Bonnar over Igor Pokrajac

2. Demian Maia is one of best grapplers to watch in MMA

I love aggressive grapplers who advance positions and consistantly go for submissions while landing strikes here and there. That’s exactly what Demian Maia does, and that’s why I love watching his fights. More Brazilian Jui-Jitsu fighters, and even wrestlers, should take a page out of Maia’s playbook and have a similar fighting spirit when it comes to grappling. Kendall Grove was just outmatched on the ground against Maia, who was literally smothering him the whole fight. Maia looked fit and strong tonight, I look forward to seeing him improve his strikes and get back up the Middleweight ladder.

Prediction (+1): Demian Maia over Kendall Grove

5 Predictions for The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale

I’m back! It’s been a while since I wrote here, and I’m sorry that I’ve been better in updating everyone with what’s going on in MMA. I’m planning to be better with this, so be on a lookout — looking to put together a standard schedule each week. Anyways, here are my predictions for TUF 12 Finale:

1. Stephan Bonnar comes out the winner from another scrap

I just don’t see Igor Pokrajac beating Stephan Bonnar. Bonnar is on a mission to cement his legacy in the UFC and with all that he’s down already, he wants to end his career with a bang. He’s definitely not going to be making a run at the title, but quality wins are necessary for him. I see Bonnar getting into another scrap back and forth with Bonnar dishing out the majority of the punishment.

Prediction: Stephan Bonnar over Igor Pokrajac via decision

2. Demian Maia displays some high level Brazilian Jui-Jitsu

Kendall Grove made a big mistake asking for this fight with Demian Maia. There’s a huge difference in talent with Maia having a huge advantage on the ground. I love how Maia isn’t just a lay & pray fighter, so look for him to attack while on the ground. Grove has some long limbs and can threaten from his back, but that’ll just be more leverage for Maia to snap on a submission.

Prediction: Demian Maia over Kendall Grove via submission
