WOW! That’s all I have to say. Who would ever thought Anderson Silva would end the fight the way he did? It’s exactly what Dana White said, “I’ve only seen that in a video game.” All the main event fights at UFC 126 came through and prelims were great. Here were the results:
1. Anderson Silva is the pound-for-pound best fighter in MMA
Anderson Silva came, and he showed the world why he’s the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Vitor Belfort didn’t see it coming at all. Silva landed an amazing front kick that knocked Belfort down, then proceeded to land two quick heavy shots on the ground to retain the title. Once again, another legendary performance. Silva has done his part, Georges St. Pierre better do his part and beat Jake Shields.
(+1) Prediction: Anderson Silva over Vitor Belfort
2. Forrest Griffin used his size to control the fight everywhere
Forrest Griffin came back strong and worked out the cobwebs of having not fought since 2009. He was a bigger fighter than Rich Franklin and used that size to control the fight wherever he wanted to go. When it got to the grond, he smothered him. When it got to the cage, he didn’t let him move. When it was on the feet, he used his kicks to keep Rich at bay. Griffin dominated the fight, and I can’t wait to see him fight next.
(+1) Prediction: Forrest Griffin over Rich Franklin
