Day 16: A dream matchBJ Penn vs. Jose Aldo. Are you getting all giddy inside? I know I am just thinking about it. It would be at the 155lb Lightweight Division since both fighters can easily make that weight. Aldo walks around in the high 160’s. We all know this fight would be fireworks.
Both fighters are ferocious strikers and are BJJ black belts. I’ll give the boxing and BJJ to Penn, but the dynamic striking will go to Aldo. His kicks are just scary. Although, I think the game will be won on the ground where Penn’s flexibility and skill will take over.
Who do you think will win? My money is on BJ Penn. WAR PENN!

What do you think about the draw at UFC 127? Personally after re-watching the fight a few times I score it 29-29 with the second round being a draw (10-10), who do u think won the fight?

I think BJ Penn won the fight, but I’m not complaining about the draw since I can see even seeing it go to Jon Fitch too. Here’s my breakdown:

  1. Penn wins the first round due to control, takedowns, dominant positions, and submission attempts. (10-9)
  2. Penn wins the second round due to more of the same thing — although Fitch does gain top control in the last minute of the round. (10-9)
  3. Fitch wins the third round due to total domination. You can argue a 10-8 round, but that wasn’t close to the 10-8 first round between Edgar and Maynard. (10-9)

5 Predictions for UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch

UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch is a here, and I’m excited. It’s funny sometimes, the UFC does it’s best to get all of it’s fights in front of the fans. You have the opportunity to watch 10 fights from UFC 127 — that’s nearly the whole damn card! So be sure to log on to Facebook, tune in to ION, and order the PPV, it’s sure to be a fun one.

1. BJ Penn makes his mark in the Welterweight Division, again!

So let’s just breakdown the BJ Penn vs. Jon Fitch fight here. Fitch is the naturally bigger fighter. He’s considered the #2 Welterweight in the UFC. He’s known to be a grinder and doesn’t give an inch to any of his opponents. His wrestling is considered top notch and overwhelming. All of these traits are things Penn has had problems with in the past. You put him against a bigger wrestler who doesn’t stop, betting odds would go against Penn which it has in UFC 127.

Well, I’m not a betting man and that’s why I’m choosing Penn to TKO Fitch within 3 rounds. People are saying which Penn is going to show up, and I think the best Penn will be in the octagon because (1) his legacy is on the line, (2) title shot implications, and (3) he wants to prove he can beat a bigger wrestler. I’m going against the grain, BJ PENN FTW!

Prediction: BJ Penn over Jon Fitch via TKO

2. Bisping vs. Rivera is going to be the Fight of the Night

Can you say bad blood? I genuinely think both Michael Bisping and Jorge Rivera hate each other and if they were putting on an act — let’s hand them some Oscars right now. I see this fight being fireworks just because their styles suit that. You have the technical striker in Bisping who comes at your non-stop and then you have the brawler in Rivera who packs heavy power in that right hand. This is going to go back and forth with Bisping the better of the exchanges. Can’t wait!

Prediction: Michael Bisping over Jorge Rivera via decision
