UFC on FUEL TV: Silva vs. Stann
We’re looking at three amazing brawls at UFC on FUEL TV: Silva vs Stann. As much as the main event between Wanderlei Silva and Brian Stann will be a Light Heavyweight slobberknocker, I’m really excited to see the fight between Mark Hunt and Stefan Struve. Hunt who was a huge star in Japan, returns looking to make a run for the Heavyweight Title.

I personally don’t think Yushin Okami is going to wait. That’s just going to be too long of a layoff. He last fought in 11/13/2010, and UFC 129 is on 4/30/2011 — that’ll already close to 6 months. If GSP wins, they’ll have the superfight later in the year — lets say 4 months later at the earliest. That’s already 10 months. Then add 3 months for training if Anderson beats GSP — that’s already over a year. Okami would get smashed being out that long.

This all changes if GSP loses to Jake Shields. Okami would get the shot if that happens.

Am I the only one who thinks Okami should get a shot at Anderson before GSP?

Yushin Okami has been 10-2 in the UFC. That’s pretty impressive in itself, especially in the Middleweight Division. He definitely deserve it, but it’s just about timing and money.

It’s a unique time when you have the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world with Anderson Silva and GSP. They’re both at the top of their game and have nearly cleared out each of their division. Everyones clamoring for this fight, which means a ton of money.

Either Yushin Okami waits for the winner of the Silva vs. GSP fight (if it happens), or takes another fight. I think he should stay active and take another fight even though it risks his title shot, but I’d wait until after UFC 129.
